Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced emergency environment, ensuring their safety and comfort during critical situations.

Job Details

• Unit: ER (Emergency Room)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department
• Shifts Available: 0630-1900, 0730-2000, 0930-2200, 1130-2400, 1430-0300, 1830-0700
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Required to work on major holidays, rotating with core staff

Qualifications

• Certifications Required:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Patient Ratios: 3:1 to 4:1

Unit Information

• Fast Track Beds: 5 beds (2 exam rooms, 3 beds)
• Total ER Beds: 26
• Average Patients per Day: 40-160
• Common Diagnoses: STEMI, CVA, trauma, minor complaints
• Patient Population: Diverse, with a focus on underserved communities

Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage patient care in the Emergency Room setting
• Monitor and interpret patients’ vital signs and conditions
• Perform lab draws and administer medications as required
• Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to develop care plans
• Provide education to patients and families regarding health conditions and interventions

• Availability of Support Staff: Aides for patient care, Security, and EMT assistance
• Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy: Available 24/7
• Orientation: Comprehensive training provided, including education across the lifespan and trauma module
