Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary contract position. As a Tele RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients while floating to various units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the medical-surgical and telemetry units.
• Monitor and evaluate patient conditions, including EKG interpretation.
• Handle boarded patients in the Emergency Department (ED) while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Assist in the care of other medical-surgical units if ED coverage is not required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

Work Schedule

The position requires a commitment to a schedule of 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every-other-weekend availability and holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for 4+ years in a telemetry or medical-surgical setting.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• BLS certification and the ability to pass an EKG test.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems, preferably Epic.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Contract Details

This is an 8-week contract position, with 32 hours of orientation required, including 16 non-billable hours.
