Overview

The Operating Room Circulator Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring patient care and safety in the operating room. This position requires critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership to anticipate and meet the needs of patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to provide high-quality patient care during surgical procedures.
• Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding the surgical process and updates.
• Maintain and update physician preference cards for surgical procedures.
• Assist physicians by scrubbing and providing direct support during surgeries.
• Supervise and mentor staff involved in delivering patient care in the operating room.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of care according to established standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN).
• Experience in Robotics, Orthopedic, General, and OBGYN surgical procedures.
• Must possess experience with c-section procedures.
• Current nursing license in the relevant state.

Schedule and Call Requirements

This position involves a schedule of 4x10 hour days or 5x8 hour days, with required on-call responsibilities. Availability for three first calls, three second calls, and one weekend every six weeks is expected.
