Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a position that encompasses both Emergency Room (ER) and Medical Surgical (MedSurg) responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be prepared to handle a variety of patient cases and support our commitment to providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in both ER and MedSurg settings.
• Manage patient assessments, care plans, and interventions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor and document patient progress using Athena EMR.
• Work effectively in a dynamic environment with varying patient acuity.
• Support other staff, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), as needed.

Schedule

This position is for day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Flexibility to float between ER and MedSurg is essential, as some shifts may involve more focus on one area than the other.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas state RN license or multistate license required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications from AHA are mandatory.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred, but first-time travelers and candidates with less than three years of experience are welcome to apply.

Nursing Ratio

The nurse-to-patient ratio will typically be around 1:3, with a maximum ratio of 5:1.

Work Environment

The nursing team will consist of two registered nurses, one nursing aide, and one staff secretary on the floor to support patient care.

Cancellation Policy

• The client may cancel one shift every 30 days during a 13-week assignment. Please note that guaranteed hours will not apply in these cases.
• If a shift is canceled after the healthcare professional has started working, the client will compensate for the hours worked or a minimum of two hours, whichever is greater.
