Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional care for patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.

Shift Information

• Shift Type: Days
• Length: 12 Hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per schedule
• Holidays: Coverage needed as required

Unit Details

• Unit Type: Labor and Delivery
• Bed Count: 18 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) beds; 14 bed OB triage; 8 bed Antepartum
• Average Deliveries: 8-10 per day
• Operating Room Suites: 2 fully equipped for C-sections

Patient Care Information

• Common Diagnoses: Laboring or preterm pregnant patients
• Patient-to-Nurse Ratios: Typically 2:1 in labor, 1:1 during C-sections, and 4:1 in Antepartum as acuity requires
• Qualifications: Must have experience with C-sections and computer charting (preferably Cerner)

Qualifications

• Required Experience: 4 years in Labor and Delivery
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Orientation and Training

• Prescreening required, followed by manager interview
• Dysrhythmia exam: Required to pass with an 80% score before offer acceptance (maximum of 2 attempts)
• Sim lab assessment on Day 1 of orientation; study guides will be provided
• 1 week of unit-specific orientation

Additional Information

• Level II EQ unit accepting gestations of 28 weeks and greater
• Level 1 Trauma Center
• 24/7 Anesthesia and RT services available
• IV Team available as needed
• Fetal monitoring system: Fetal Link
• Floating to Mother/Baby/Postpartum as needed
