Registered Nurse - Telemetry (RN)

Unit Information

This telemetry unit specializes in cardiac and neuro patients, offering care with a focus on critical monitoring and patient safety.

• Number of Beds: 30 (with plans for 12 overflow)
• Staffing: 50 core RNs
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Type of Equipment: Tele boxes, Welch Allen vital sign machines, Alaris IV pumps
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will provide care to patients in the telemetry unit, focusing on those with cardiac and neurological issues. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• EKG interpretation
• IV start and management
• Chest tube management
• Caring for patients post-procedures such as heart catheterization, pacemaker insertion, ablation, valve repair, cardioversion, and more

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess the following:

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
• Preferred Skills: Experience in telemetry nursing with a focus on quick learning and effective communication
• Best Personality Fit: Dependable with a proactive attitude

Work Schedule

This position requires the ability to work 3-4 weekend shifts per month, with no on-call responsibilities.

Dress Code

Scrub color is variable, and visible piercings are not permitted during shifts.
