Description

Birth Center Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Birth Center Registered Nurse is responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to patients in the birthing center setting, including postpartum, gynecological, surgical, and medical overflow patients. This role involves managing and caring for newborns, assisting with breastfeeding, and ensuring optimal infant nutrition, with an emphasis on resuscitating neonates as per Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) standards.

Minimum Years of Experience

3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Certifications and Requirements

  • Current Oregon State RN License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
  • National Certification in Lactation or Perinatal Care preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of labor and delivery experience required.
  • Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management and care for postpartum, gynecological, surgical, and medical overflow patients.
  • Providing care for newborns, assisting with breastfeeding and infant nutrition.
  • Performing neonatal resuscitation according to NRP protocols.
  • Potentially lifting up to 50 lbs as required by patient care needs.

Holiday Coverage

Holiday coverage is required for this position.

Skills
