Job Description
An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Trauma Level: Certified Stroke Center
- Number of Beds: 18
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 based on acuity
Responsibilities
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for:
- Providing immediate assessment and treatment to patients presenting with acute medical conditions.
- Caring for patients across all age groups with a wide range of diagnoses, including chest and abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, ENT emergencies, behavioral health, sepsis, and stroke.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, including common drips such as antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, and emergency medications.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to deliver exceptional care and enhance patient outcomes.
- Participating in purposeful rounding and utilizing TeleHealth services as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
- Active certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and workplace violence training (HSS Team).
- Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for emergency medicine.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player in a high-acuity environment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Scheduling & Orientation
- Shift Length: 12 hours, night shifts available.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
- Department-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts.
- Schedule determined by leadership based on departmental needs; block scheduling is challenging.
