Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in a Med/Surg unit, focusing on a range of common diagnoses and treatment plans.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Floating Requirement: May float within department needs

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Number of Beds: 21
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Patient Care Aides: 1:8
• Remote Telemonitoring available

Common Diagnoses & Patient Types

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Hypertension
• Chest Pain Work-Ups
• COPD Exacerbations
• Asthma and Pneumonia
• Pancreatitis
• Bowel Obstructions
• Gastrointestinal Bleeding
• Acute Renal Failure

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• Ability to titrate drips (analgesics, anticoagulants, antihypertensives)
• Experience with respiratory therapy equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, Vents)

Work Environment

The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes while engaging in self-scheduling and block scheduling practices. Participation in unit-specific orientation is provided to ensure smooth integration into the team.

Additional Notes

• Self-scheduling is allowed.
• Full and part-time employees are expected to align weekend shifts with department staffing plans.
• Unit/Department specific orientation will be conducted during the first week of employment.
• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs;
