MRI Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our dynamic Radiology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing MRI scans, ensuring patient safety, and obtaining high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI scans on patients, focusing on musculoskeletal, neurological, and body imaging.
• Start IVs as required for contrast administration during procedures.
• Conduct creatinine draws as needed.
• Maintain professionalism and effective communication with patients and healthcare team members.
• Participate in rotating call schedule as necessary.
• Be available for floating between multiple locations within the region as needed.
• Precept new staff and assist in training as required by the unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist.
• Certification in BLS (AHA) and ARRT (MR) is required.
• Must possess a Medical Radiologic Technologist license from the Texas Medical Board.
• Experience with Philips and Siemens MRI equipment is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Meditech and Synapse software for EMR and PACS is advantageous.

Work Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment, typically Monday through Friday, with start times around 7:30 AM. The candidate will also be part of the call rotation, which includes weekend and holiday responsibilities.

Equipment

The department is equipped with 1-2 MRI scanners per location, and proficiency in using 1.5T MRI equipment is essential.

Miscellaneous

• Black scrubs are required; scrubs will not be provided.
• Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may result in termination.
• Capability to handle up to 10 scans/studies per day.
