- Unit: 2 South ICU
- Classification: COVID ICU
- Number of Beds: 14
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
Shift Details
- Shift: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A
- Assignment Length: 13 or 26 weeks
- Weekend Requirements: Rotating
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Special Skills and Experience Required
- ACLS Certification
- BLS Certification
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience
- Familiarity with vasoactive drips
- Strong understanding of hemodynamics
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ECMO
- Experience with CRRT (NxtStg)
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
Procedures Performed on Unit
- ECMO Initiation and Management
- CRRT Procedures
- Chest Tube Insertions
- Central Line Insertions
Dress Code Requirements
- Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pants with a navy or white scrub jacket
- Nail Policy: Must be clean and healthy
- Hair Policy: Neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors
- Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos: Covered whenever possible; uncovered body art may be assessed individually
- Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
Unit Opportunities
This high-acuity unit specializes in COVID-19 care and offers advanced interventions such as VV ECMO. The team collaborates closely to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment.
Floating Policy
All staff may be required to float, and candidates should be informed of the floating policy during the interview process.
Patient Experience Requirements
Experience in ICU settings with a focus on COVID patients is preferred.
