Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) for a 13-week contract. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care during night shifts with a focus on patient-centered approaches.

Unit Information

• Location: 3South, City, State
• Number of Beds: 32
• Staffing: 9 RNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT), 2 Tele Monitor Techs
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Type of Equipment: Patient specific equipment, IV pumps, SCD pumps, BiPAP/CPAP, Telemetry monitors
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Shift Details

• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekends: Rotating every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre and post-operative care for patients.
• Manage medication administration and IV therapy, including drip titration and non-titration drips.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN)
