Position Summary
This position is responsible for directing physical therapy services under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapist coordinates and supervises department operations, administers physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician, and maintains performance improvement activities within the department. The role involves participation in continuous quality improvement activities and ensuring the competency of all personnel, as well as assistance in budget formulation and monitoring department performance in alignment with budget guidelines. The Physical Therapist develops a system for reviewing department charges, ensuring accuracy and timely entry of patient charges while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulatory laws and standards.
Position Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years of previous experience in physical therapy preferred.
- Current California licensure or certification as a physical therapist.
- Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
- Understanding of disease processes and causative factors.
- Familiarity with the benefits and values of rehabilitative medicine and physical therapy agents.
- Knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques relevant to rehabilitative medicine.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others at all organizational levels.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Team player who is respectful, accountable, and confidential with sensitive information.

- Develop teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
- Respect the dignity of patients and address their psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Ensure the safety and maintenance of department equipment and cleanliness.
- Professionally interact with patients and involve families in care planning.
- Coordinate patient care ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
