Job Overview

Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a fast-paced medical/surgical telemetry environment. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients with various diagnoses including heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, chronic kidney disease, and other medical/surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Caring for up to 24 patients with a staffing ratio of 6 patients per RN.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
• Reading telemetry strips and monitoring patients' vital signs.
• Administering care to patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy.
• Floating to all medical/surgical units as needed.

Work Environment

This position is located in a high-acuity medical/surgical telemetry unit. Orientation will be provided to familiarize RNs with unit procedures and protocols.

Schedule

This role requires flexibility as schedules are managed by nursing leadership. RNs must work the assigned schedule and are expected to work every other weekend and on holidays. Block scheduling is not available.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience in reading telemetry strips is required.
• There are no specific certifications required for this position.

Support Staff

The unit is staffed with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at a ratio of 12:1, providing additional support for patient care needs. Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators are present to offer guidance and support.

Dress Code

Staff are required to wear navy blue scrubs during their shifts.
