ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position involves providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Titrate medications and manage drips, including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, and analgesics.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members for patient care planning.
• Utilize telehealth resources to enhance patient care, particularly in rural settings.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Days, with 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Floating: May be required within Zone 4 based on organizational need

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
  • CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
• Strong foundational knowledge in critical care nursing and patient management.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred.

Unit Overview

• Type: General ICU with 10 beds
• Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Hospitalist or Intensivist present onsite for additional support.
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7.
• Support staff, such as nurse aides, available as per volume needs.

Additional Information

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available for shifts.
• Mandatory weekend and holiday shifts as determined by department staffing needs.
• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs.
