ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide critical care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of critical care procedures and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team, utilizing telehealth methodologies when necessary.

Position Details

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Common Diagnoses: Abdominal Pain, Chest Pain, Fever, Cough, Dyspnea, Headache, Injury, Extremity Pain

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including the titration of drips such as vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, and analgesics.
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients using essential equipment, including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPap.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including hospitalists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Respond to emergency situations with urgency and appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and care procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medications, procedures, and telehealth technologies relevant to critical care.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU or critical care setting.
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
  • CRRT
• Skills: Proficient in reading telemetry strips and responding to critical situations.

Schedule Requirements

• Night shift schedule with a commitment to work 6-9 weekends in a 6-week period.
• Floating may be required within designated zones based on operational needs.

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available.
• Mandatory participation in orientation and training programs as scheduled.
• Professional dress code: Navy Blue scrubs.
