Job Details
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Telemetry/Medical Surgical Unit. The role involves working on a night shift schedule with a commitment of 36 hours per week.
Shift Information
- Unit: Telemetry
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Shift: Nights
- Every other weekend required
Unit Overview
- Unit Location: 7 West, 7 East, 5 East
- Type of Care: Medical Surgical with telemetry components
- Number of Beds: 60
- Patient Population: Primarily adults with limited pediatric cases (1-5 per year)
- Staffing Ratio: 5:1
Common Patient Diagnoses
- Post-surgical care
- Diabetes management
- Heart failure
- Hypertension
- Weakness
- Cancer treatment
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- BLS Certification is required
- Must have a positive attitude and work well in a team setting
- Ability to care for diverse patient populations
Technical Skills
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Knowledge of Alaris IV pumps
Additional Notes
The candidate should be prepared to float to other units as needed. Compliance with the fingernail policy (no artificial nails) is required. A driver's license is necessary for verification of distance from the facility.
