Description
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiovascular intensive care and be open to floating within the unit. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Unit Information
- Unit: C8A - CTICU
- Unit Type: Cardio IC (Cardiovascular Intensive Care)
- Bed Count: 12 beds in 8A and 13 beds in 8B
- Patient Ratios: 1:2, occasionally 1:1
- Nurse Aide Support: 1 PCA on the floor
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess high acuity patients, including those with heart and lung transplants, LVAD patients, and cardiac surgeries.
- Administer and titrate vasoactive drips for cardiac patients.
- Collaborate with an Intensivist model for patient care.
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing training.
Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a high-acuity ICU environment.
- Certifications:
- ACLS
- BLS Certification
- NIHSS
- Experience: CRRT trained, with a preference for candidates with 3+ years of experience in a busy hospital setting.
Scheduling and Requirements
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks
- Holiday Requirement: Must be willing to work any holiday.
Additional Information
- Daily parking is available on campus with various options for garage access.
- Required to participate in floating as needed based on competency.
- Staff will work in teal scrubs.
- Devices commonly used in this unit include LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, and IABP.
