Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a travel assignment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a progressive care unit, monitoring patients’ conditions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Position Details
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3 days per week)
- Weekend Shifts: Must work 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
- Floating: This is a float pool position; candidates must be willing to float between departments and multiple locations within the region
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients in the PCU/Telemetry setting, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) therapies, including cardiac drips.
- Utilize and maintain proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically Cerner.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care plans and health management.
- Safely handle equipment and technology related to patient monitoring and treatment.
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically in a PCU or Telemetry unit.
- Familiarity with TAVRs (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements) and Watchman Mitra Clips is preferred.
- Ability to manage a patient load with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1.
- Flexible to float as necessary between various departments and locations.
