Description
Job Summary
A Radiology Technologist is needed for 12-hour day shifts. This role includes training from November 9-13, with a focus on providing efficient diagnostic imaging services to patients. The Radiology Technologist will work primarily at multiple locations within Topeka, KS.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Move imaging equipment into the appropriate position and determine exposure factors based on patient specifications.
- Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce accurate images.
- Utilize immobilization devices for optimum views of specified body areas.
- Perform a variety of technical procedures independently, applying ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
- Operate mobile radiologic equipment when necessary.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Provide excellent customer service by creating a friendly atmosphere and prioritizing patient needs.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and foster cooperation.
- Prepare images for review by radiologists or requesting physicians.
- Assist in training students and/or new staff.
- Respond to the needs of patients across various age groups, from school-aged children to the elderly.
- Adhere to staffing and scheduling practices.
- Seek opportunities for professional development through departmental meetings and educational activities.
Work Environment
The position will primarily involve shifts at Croco and North locations, with possible float to the Midtown location, all based in Topeka, KS. Weekend shifts will be scheduled every other weekend.
Qualifications
- Current certifications: AHA BLS, ARRT, and KSBHA LRT.
- All required licensure and certifications must be valid at the time of application.
- No pending certifications or licenses will be accepted.
- No hits on licensure are allowed, without exception.
