Job Details

The role involves working in a high-acuity ICU setting and providing care to patients with a variety of critical health issues. The position is for a 12-week contract with a scheduled commitment of 36 hours per week on night shifts. All candidates must meet the specified schedule requirements, including alternating weekends and on-call availability as needed.

Orientation Schedule

• The first day of orientation will be during the day shift.
• The second day will consist of floor orientation aligned with the contracted shift.
• Non-billable orientation is 12 hours.

Patient Care Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing patients with respiratory failure, multiple organ failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, general surgeries, and vascular surgeries.
• Providing care for patients undergoing alcohol and drug withdrawal.
• Responding to patient needs in the ICU and floating to other inpatient units as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-acuity ICU is required.
• Preferred candidates will have at least 5 years of ICU experience and previous travel nursing experience.
• A valid Illinois RN license is required.
• Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
• New graduates are not accepted for this role.
