Job Details

Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Orthopedic Care within a Telemetry unit. This position offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on patient-centered care.

Job Summary

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36/48 hours rotating per two weeks
• Shift Timing: 7 AM - 7 PM; every other weekend required
• Holiday Requirement: Required

Unit Information

• Unit: Tower 2 Med/Surg - Ortho
• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 12
• Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
• Common Diagnoses: Orthopedic conditions
• PCTs on the unit: Present at a ratio of 12/1

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic patients.
• Monitor patient condition and vital signs, with the ability to read telemetry strips.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Utilize great communication and time management skills in a dynamic environment.
• Participate in unit-based orientation, including two shadow shifts prior to independent practice.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in nursing, preferably in a Med/Surg or Telemetry setting.
• Required Certifications: ACLS and BLS Certification.
• Skills: Must possess strong communication, critical thinking, and time management skills.
• Drip Titration: Nurses are not required to titrate drips.
• Equipment: Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy.
• Floating Requirement: Must be willing and able to float to all Med/Tele units as needed.

Dress Code

The dress code for this position is navy blue scrubs.
