Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced emergency setting. The RN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a trauma-level 1 emergency room.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform necessary nursing procedures, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergencies promptly.
- Maintain sterile fields during procedures.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with medical staff, including physicians and mid-level providers.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of emergency room nursing experience preferred; however, candidates with less experience may be considered.
- At least 6 months of experience in a trauma-level 1 facility is required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
- Preferred certifications include TNCC and ATCN.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment.
Shift Details
This position operates on a night shift schedule for 12 hours, with a guaranteed 36 hours of work per week.
Additional Information
- Floating between multiple locations within the region may be required.
- All nurses will undergo a floor-specific orientation, including 2-3 shifts on the unit.
- Weekend shifts are required, approximately 4 shifts per month, scheduled at unit discretion.
- Maintaining natural hair color and adhering to grooming standards is expected.
- Candidates must be able to complete a day 1 pass/fail exam on orientation.
- Common patient diagnoses include trauma, burns, and pediatric cases, among others.
