Unit Highlights

Located in Las Colinas, TX, this Labor & Delivery unit is focused on providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.

• Number of Beds: 12
• Patient Ratios: 2 patients per nurse
• Staffing: 1 unit tech each shift and 1 unit secretary on day shifts
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Floating Policy: As needed

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per month
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• FM (Fetal Monitoring)
• AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)

Preferred Skills:

• RNC (Registered Nurse Certification)
• Experience with Meditech preferred

Licensure: Active Texas RN License required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)

Unit Procedures

The unit is equipped to perform various procedures, including circulating for C-sections.

Dress Code

All staff are expected to adhere to the following dress code:

• Scrubs will be provided by the facility
• Nail Policy: Must be clean and healthy
• Hair: Must be neat and clean, avoiding extreme styles or colors
• Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited

Standard unit policies regarding attendance and floating guidelines will be strictly enforced.
