Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Telemetry Unit, providing high-quality care for patients with various medical and surgical needs. The successful candidate will join a highly functioning team in a supportive and family-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for medical/surgical overflow patients, including non-acute stroke patients.
• Titrate medication drips, including insulin and pain medications.
• Assess and validate telemetry strips as required.
• Work collaboratively with a charge nurse and house supervisor to ensure unit efficiency.
• Maintain effective communication with interdisciplinary team members and patients.

Unit Information

• Unit: Telemetry, 7th Floor
• Number of Beds: 32
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 (50%), 5:1 (50%)
• Nurse Aides present with an average ratio of 8:1 to 10:1.
• Equipment Available: BiPAP, High Flow therapy.

Scheduling and Availability

• Shift Length: 12 hours.
• Weekend Requirement: Rotational based on unit needs.
• Holiday Requirement: One winter and one summer holiday.
• Self-scheduling available, with the potential for standby shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience required.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
• Epic experience is essential.
• Valid nursing license and relevant certifications.

Orientation and Support

• Unit-specific orientation will be provided.
• Collaborative team environment with strong support from colleagues.
• No scheduled time off for travelers during the first week of assignment.
