Job Description

We are seeking experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Family Birthing Center team. This position requires a strong clinical background in labor and delivery, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. RNs will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care during labor, delivery, and recovery for both mother and baby.
• Assist in all aspects of delivery, including the ability to catch the baby when needed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions using advanced fetal monitoring techniques.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols, ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal outcomes.
• Provide education and support to mothers regarding breastfeeding and newborn care.
• Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current certifications include ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP, and preferably STABLE.
• Experience in high-risk obstetrics is highly desirable.
• Candidates must have the ability to interpret EKG strips and respond to emergency situations effectively.
• Prior experience with C-sections and circulating in the Operating Room is a plus.

Shift Details

• 12-hour day shifts, with a requirement to work every other weekend.
• Travelers may work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s).
• Schedule is self-managed and available online; flexibility to trade shifts with other staff is permitted.

Additional Information

Each nurse will receive floor-specific orientation lasting 2-4 days with a preceptor to ensure a smooth transition. The Family Birthing Center primarily serves term, preterm, and high-risk patients, including an antepartum population. Support for breastfeeding is emphasized within the unit.
