Shift Information

This position involves a 12-hour night shift. The typical schedule includes 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, with the expectation of flexibility for days, weekends, and holidays as required. A maximum of two (2) call-offs is allowed, and requests for time off during Thanksgiving and Christmas are not permissible.

Minimum Experience Required

Three (3) years of nursing experience, including a minimum of one (1) year of pediatric experience.

Certifications and Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Job Description

The role involves providing care as a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU), catering to both adult geriatric patients and pediatric patients. You will work in an environment with excellent staffing ratios: typically 4:1 for non-COVID patients (maximum 5:1) and typically 2:1 for COVID patients (maximum 3:1).

Setting

This position is based in a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving adult and pediatric patients. In addition to inpatient nursing duties, there may be assignments to assist with flu immunization clinics. Travelers are also expected to attend staff meetings and may need to float to other departments where qualified.

Orientation

Orientation is conducted on Mondays only. If compliance deadlines are missed, new employees will be rescheduled to the next available onboarding session.
