General Information

The CVICU is a specialized unit designed for the critical care of surgical cardiac patients. Our focus is on providing high-quality postoperative care to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 4
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 immediate post-surgical, 1:2 on Post-Operative Day 1-3
• Staffing Description: Primary Nursing with unit secretaries and tech availability
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling Requirements: 36 hours per week, including 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
• Floating Policy: Floating staff will maintain the same patient ratio as the unit to which they are floated

Hiring Profile

Requested Skill Set

• Must Have: 1-2 years of experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients, focusing on direct primary recovery
• Advanced Skills Needed: ACLS, Balloon pump, Impella training, Hemosphere or Acumen trained
• Certifications Required: ACLS

Dress Code

The required uniform is navy blue.
