Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: Nights; flexibility to float required
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes

Unit Information

• Average Patients per Day: 109
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Number of Beds/Trauma Bays: 21
• Fast Track Areas: Yes (4 fast track rooms)
• Triage: Separate triage area available
• In-House Security: Yes
• Telemetry: Available; RNs expected to interpret cardiac rhythms
• Emergency Medical Records: Utilizes EPIC

Responsibilities

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality patient care in emergency situations.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Managing emergency situations, including trauma care.
• Performing ECGs and utilizing various medical equipment effectively.
• Conducting patient assessments and prioritizing care based on severity.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: RN, ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS (or ENPC), NRP preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of ER experience required.
• Strong critical care skills; familiarity with critical drips is essential.
• Ability to manage and care for diverse patient populations, including older adults.

Additional Information

• Unit/Department-specific orientation will be provided.
• Navy blue scrubs required for staff.
• No floating outside of the emergency department is required.
