Unit: Labor & Delivery
Location: Lone Tree, CO
General Information
This unit has the following features:
- Number of Beds: 19 patient rooms, 6 PACU rooms, 6 triage rooms, 3 L&D ORs
- Staffing: Matrix of 8-10 for night shift
- Night Shift Staff: 1 charge nurse, 7-9 RNs, 1 CST
- Patient Ratios: 2:1, with 1:1 for complicated patients (estimated)
- Type of Equipment: FHR monitors (Novii and GE), fetal scalp electrodes
- EMR Systems: CPN and Meditech
Typical Hiring Profile
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of current hospital Labor & Delivery experience
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN or EFM certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Mom/Baby, Pediatrics, or NICU
Typical Procedures Performed
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-section deliveries
- Delivery of care through nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Directing and coordinating all nursing care for labor and delivery patients, postpartum patients, and high-risk antepartum patients
