Location: Roanoke, VA

Number of Beds: 8
Number of Staff: 23 RNs
Patient Ratios: 1:4

Shift Details

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

GE Monitors
Nurse Call System
Small Ventilator
Baxter Pumps
Zoll Defibrillators

Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

System: Meditech

Qualifications

Required Skills

Independent IV skills
EKG skills
Assessment skills
Previous Emergency Room experience

Preferred Skills

Experience in a Freestanding Emergency Department
Independent mixing of pharmacy drugs such as TPA, KCentra

Typical Procedures

Performing IV placements
Conducting EKGs
Mixing medications
Scanning medications for all patients

Personality Fit

Ideal candidates should be team players, outgoing, and able to work independently.

ACLS

Unit Policies

Holidays: Required to work on holidays
Weekends: Rotating weekends with three weekend shifts (Fridays and Saturdays) every four weeks

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
