Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing and be comfortable handling various patient diagnoses and advanced medical equipment.

Unit Overview

• Beds: 42 beds (East 20, West 22), Neuro/Med: 22, CTICU: 6, Surg/Trauma: 14
• Common Patient Diagnoses:
  • Neuro/Med: Strokes, Sepsis, Altered Mental Status (AMS), Neuro Interventions (TCAR), Respiratory Failure, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Post-ST segment elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI)
  • CTICU: Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiogenic Shock, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Surgery
  • Surg/Trauma: Trauma, Major postoperative surgical cases
• Specialty Equipment Used:
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) systems (PRISMA or NxStage)
  • Ventriculostomy and Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring
  • Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) system (Artic Sun)
• Floating Requirements: Required to float if needed to all units except Behavioral and Emergency Room (unless holding)

Shifts

• 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Block scheduling is not guaranteed)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in ICU settings, including SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU.
• 4-5 years of ICU experience is preferred.
• EMR experience required: EPIC.
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Active NY license and verification of all active RN licenses required.
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Prismaflex is necessary.
• Experience with cardiovascular cases is highly preferred.
