Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Telemetry team. The ideal candidate will provide care for patients requiring continuous monitoring, demonstrating strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in a telemetry unit.
• Monitor patient's vital signs and cardiac rhythms.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist in the coordination of care with other healthcare professionals.
• Document patient care and progress accurately in electronic medical records.
• Participate in patient and family education to promote health and wellness.
• Engage in professional development and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in a telemetry setting, within the past 6 months.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
• Successful completion of the Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam within the specified timeframe prior to acceptance.
• Ability to interpret EKGs effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Unit Information

This position is within the CV Telemetry unit, accommodating 32 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:3-4. The unit operates with a supportive team structure, including PCTs and a Clinical Supervisor.

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts (7 AM to 7 PM).
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating to similar or lower acuity units as needed.

Common Patient Diagnoses

• Post-catheterization and post-vascular procedures.
• Day 2 CABG patients.
• General telemetry patients requiring cardiac medications.
