Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room. The role requires working 6-7 days per month, including one weekend, with the option of either three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts.

Unit Information

Located in a surgical facility, the unit consists of a small team dedicated to providing high-quality surgical care.

• Number of Beds: 7
• Staffing: 3 members (1 OR RN and 2 CSTs on day shift)
• Patient Ratios: 4 to 5 cases per team
• Type of Equipment: None
• Electronic Medical Records: Not Applicable
• On-Call Requirement: 4 to 5 Call Days
• Floating Requirement: Staff share between surgical facilities

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

• Acting as a Circulator RN to prepare patients for surgery, position them appropriately, and monitor all equipment.
• Collaboration with the surgical team and ensuring a seamless flow of operations in the operating room.
• Participation in trauma calls as needed.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Must have experience as an RN Circulator with the ability to position patients and monitor surgical equipment.
• Preferred candidates will have at least 3 years of experience.

Preferred Skills

Noteworthy experience in the following areas will be prioritized:

• Orthopedics, Plastics, and Podiatry procedures.
• Experience with Total joints, hip replacements, Tibia and Fibula surgeries, ankles, and feet surgeries.
• Experience in Plastics, including breast reduction and reconstructions.
• Familiarity with robotic surgeries, specifically XI and DV5 systems.
