Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Suites/Labs: 2 beds
• Average Cases Per Day: 8
• EMR/Equipment: Cerner
• Staffing: Charge Nurse and Cath Lab/IR Techs available

Shift Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts from 07:00 to 17:00
• Weekend Requirement: Call required, minimally every other weekend from Friday 15:30 to Monday 07:00
• Call Requirement: Average of 12 call days including weekends, potentially up to 18, with a response time of 30 minutes
• Holidays: Call required, with rotating assignments

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
• Orientation: Floor specific orientation depending on skill level, typically 1 or 2 shifts

Additional Information

The role involves participation in various cardiac invasive procedures, excluding structural heart cases. Peripheral procedures such as carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, and peripheral diagnostics and interventions will be part of the responsibilities. Note that certain “dirty” procedures (e.g., PEGs, G-tubes) will not be performed in this unit.

Scrubs will be provided by the facility. There will be no floating to other departments, and the unit utilizes an IV team, respiratory therapy, and a pharmacy available 24/7.
