Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Step Down Unit. This position is essential for providing high-quality care to patients in a medical step-down environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a medical step-down unit with a capacity of 6-20 beds.
- Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, substance abuse issues, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 to 4.
- Float to various Intermediate Care Units as needed, with 5J and 12A being the most common units.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a step-down or similar unit.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Additional Information
Mandatory holiday coverage is required. Travelers must be available to work either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, as well as either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
