Registered Nurse (RN) - Obstetrics / Labor & Delivery

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in our Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery unit. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period while also caring for newborns in a combined unit setting.

Unit Information

13-week contract with day shifts (7a-7p)
9-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with a dedicated operating room suite and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) on-site
3-bed Nursery
Average monthly deliveries: 35
Average outpatient and OB emergency department monthly volume: 100
Collaboration with a team of 1 OB/Gyn, 2 Family Medicine Obstetricians, 2 Family Medicine Residents, and 1 Certified Nurse Midwife

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct care to laboring patients and manage the delivery of newborns
Monitor and assess maternal and fetal health throughout the labor process
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care plans
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and as appropriate
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and newborn care

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Stable, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
C-section circulator experience is preferred but not required
Proficient with electronic medical records; experience with TruBridge is a plus

Additional Information

Qualified candidates will be provided with appropriate scrubs for both the labor and delivery and operating room settings. We encourage applications from individuals committed to delivering excellent patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
