Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the MedSurg / Telemetry unit. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients aged 65 and older, primarily dealing with common diagnoses such as trauma, falls, fractures, and motor vehicle accidents.

Unit Information

• 38 bed unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• Specialty care for trauma patients and management of Heparin drips and acute medications

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a MedSurg / Telemetry setting
• Monitor patient conditions and implement appropriate interventions
• Engage in family communication and involvement in patient care plans
• Utilize specialty equipment such as gait belts, geriatric chairs, and physical therapy equipment
• Promote hospital-acquired delirium prevention, early mobility, HAPI prevention, and falls prevention

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Documented experience in MedSurg and telemetry care is mandatory
• Familiarity with geriatric care and trauma management
• Strong communication skills for effective family engagement
