Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively under pressure, ensuring high-quality care for critically ill patients.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Unit Information

Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

• Unit/Department: ICU - Trauma ICU
• Number of Beds: 30
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1 to 1-2 (90% of the time will be 1 to 2)

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, including titration of vasopressors and sedation.
• Monitor and assess patient condition, documenting care provided and response promptly.
• Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float to other units as necessary, including the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the ICU setting with a strong background in trauma care.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. PALS certification is preferred.
• Experience with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring and ventriculostomies is mandatory.
• Travel experience is preferred but must have robust experience from larger, fast-paced facilities.

This position is in a high-intensity environment requiring effective teamwork and collaboration. The ideal candidate must be proactive in seeking help and asking questions to ensure the best patient outcomes. The unit has a strong focus on providing quality care with a schedule planned around the needs of both staff and patients.

Other Notes

• Position entails frequent interactions with a multidisciplinary team, including intensivists and respiratory therapists.
• Opportunity for additional orientation if necessary to ensure seamless integration into the unit.
• Hospital policies regarding holiday requests will be accommodated when feasible, though cannot be guaranteed.
