We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Telemetry. This role involves evaluating assigned patients and planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care. The RN will assist physicians during examinations and procedures, perform various patient tests, and administer medications in accordance with the scope of practice for registered nurses.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized care plans.
• Document nursing care and patient responses accurately.
• Assist healthcare providers during medical examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests as required.
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals.
• Teach patients and families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
• Utilize clinical judgment and experience to achieve care objectives.
• Perform a variety of nursing tasks with creativity and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Must possess an Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a PCU or Telemetry setting.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the nursing field.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically Cerner, is essential.
• Ability to handle cardiac drips and familiarity with TAVRs and Watchman mitral clips is required.
• Willingness to float between departments and multiple locations within the region.

Work Schedule

This position includes night shifts with a three-day workweek, requiring six weekend shifts within a six-week schedule.

Patient Care Ratio

The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 6:1.

Scrub color is flexible; any color is acceptable.
