Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Room team. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Location

This role is primarily based in Burien, WA, with the possibility of floating to multiple locations within the region, including Seattle, WA and Federal Way, WA as needed.

Job Details

• Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotational basis with permanent staff

Unit Information

• ER Level: IV, Cardiac and Stroke Center
• Total Beds: 32, including 2 trauma bays and 2 seclusion rooms
• Average Patients per Day: 125-150
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5, depending on acuity
• EMR: EPIC

Qualifications

• Must possess current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ER setting
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Emergency Department Technicians
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings; be proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips
• Participate in the clinical care of patients with a range of diagnoses including stroke, tPA eligible, STEMI, and major trauma cases
• Perform lab draws and coordinate with the pharmacy and respiratory therapy, both available 24/7
• Complete a comprehensive orientation including operational modules and EPIC training

Additional Information

• Registered Nurses will be required to float within the region as needed, with additional compensation for floating
• A security officer is available in the ER at all times for patient safety
• Opportunity for triage experience, with the possibility of passing a triage test

Schedule

The schedule will be managed by the nurse manager, with planning conducted six weeks in advance.
