Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the Emergency Department. The role requires a compassionate professional dedicated to providing high-quality emergency care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions.

Shift Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekends: Rotating weekends or 4 weekend shifts per schedule; holidays as per unit policy
• Call Requirements: No
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions and injuries.
• Stabilize critical patients and perform necessary interventions in emergency situations.
• Conduct assessments, plan patient care, and evaluate outcomes.
• Document patient information using the Meditech system.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Engage in patient education and support during treatment.

Qualifications

• Active TX Registered Nurse License (temporary license not accepted).
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required.
• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Unit Information

This Emergency Department features:

• 15 treatment rooms including trauma and observation areas.
• Access to advanced diagnostic equipment including a 16-slice CT scanner, ultrasound, and telemetry devices.
• Full range of services including laboratory and radiology available on-site.

Professional Guidelines

Professional appearance is required, including:

• Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket.
• Maintaining clean and healthy nails, and neat and clean hair with no extreme styles or colors.
• Body art should be covered whenever possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.
