Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro Med/Surg team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Unit Staffing: Tech support available on both day and night shifts; Unit secretary from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximeters, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology.
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) within a 4-week schedule.
• Floating Policy: Contract labor staff will float first, followed by staff according to a rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled.
• Patient Experience Requirements: Candidates are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care, deliver bedside shift reports, and engage family members in the patient care plan.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg experience required.
• Skills: Ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, maintain surgical drains, manage nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.
• Certifications: An active RN license and BLS certification are mandatory.
• Advanced Skills: Not applicable.
• Procedures Performed on Unit: Not applicable.

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms).
