Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MS/Tele Float Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic telemetry environment. This role requires a strong nursing background with experience in medical-surgical and telemetry units, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through critical monitoring and care interventions.

Responsibilities

The MS/Tele Float Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing direct patient care to telemetry and medical-surgical patients.
• Monitoring patient conditions, reviewing telemetry strips, and responding to changes effectively.
• Administering medications and IV therapies as needed, including drips like Heparin, Cardizem, and Insulin.
• Participating in patient education and discharge planning.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Floating between various units such as Med Surge, PCU, and ED boarding as necessary.

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant nursing role.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification (NIHSS preferred but not required).
• Licensure: Active RN license in Washington or Compact License.

Work Environment

This position is located within a 32-bed telemetry unit. The nurse-patient ratio is typically 5:1, which may increase during times of high patient volume. The unit is equipped with advanced telemetry monitoring technology, and close patient observation is supported through camera monitoring.

Patient Population

Common diagnoses include:

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Cellulitis
• Alcohol Withdrawal
• Kidney disorders
• Dementia
• Stroke (CVA)

Additional Information

Clinical offers will be based on prescreen recommendations, and orientation will be provided to acclimate to the varied floating responsibilities across different units. The organization values teamwork and professional growth within their nursing staff.
