Position Overview

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for patient care within the operating room. This role involves collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare personnel to ensure quality care in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Anticipate and plan for patient care in the operating room.
• Ensure timely execution of surgical cases and availability of necessary supplies.
• Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding procedural updates.
• Maintain physician preference cards and ensure necessary materials are available.
• Scrub and assist during surgical procedures as needed.
• Supervise the delivery of patient care by other personnel.
• Float between multiple locations as required.

Qualifications

• Active ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room with strengths in Orthopedics, Neurology, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, and Gynecology.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is required.
• CNOR certification is preferred.

Additional Information

Applicants must complete AHCA fingerprinting prior to the start date. The ability to perform duties across various departments may be necessary based on organizational needs.
