Unit: 7N Cardiac Telemetry

Location: Independence, MO

Number of Beds: 36

Number of Staff: 70

• Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9 RN/LPNs, 3 PCTs
• Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RN/LPNs, 3 PCTs

Patient Ratios: 4 to 5:1

Type of Equipment: Pyxis, Alaris pumps, Welch Allen Vital machines

EMR: Meditech

Position Overview

This role entails working in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of teamwork and an ability to manage diverse responsibilities effectively.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• ACLS certification
• Experience with recovering post-cath patients (excluding sheath removal), managing pacemaker placements, stroke patients, and administering amiodarone and Cardizem drips

Preferred Skills:

• NIH Stroke Scale certification

Work Schedule

Weekend shifts are a requirement, with 3 weekend shifts scheduled in a 4-week period. Shifts may include Friday and Saturday for nights or Saturday and Sunday for days.

Scrub Attire: Grey for RNs

Floating Areas

Staff may be required to float to other telemetry departments, medical-surgical units, or progressive care units as needed.
