Location

• Rockford, Illinois

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts: 7p-7:30a
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No call or standby requirement

Unit / Setting

• NTICU
• Nurse:patient ratio: 1:2-3
• Charge nurse is present 24/7 and ideally does not take patients, but may when necessary
• CNAs are staffed
• No monitor tech on the unit
• Central monitors on the unit and in rooms
• Expected to float throughout the house except ER and OB
• If floated to MedSurg, ratio is capped at 1:4

Required Qualifications

• Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Must be comfortable with vent management and medication titration
• Must have experience with art lines and central lines
• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Preferred

• PALS
• CRRT experience
• EVD/ICP experience

Clinical Experience / Patient Population

• Complex trauma patients, including head, chest, ABD, and ortho trauma
• Stroke, IV tPA, thrombectomy, embolization, and aneurysm coiling
• Adult complex burns and pediatrics up to 18-20% BSA without respiratory involvement
• General medical and surgical patients requiring critical care
• CRRT, EVDs, and ICP monitoring

Additional Details

• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Common titratable and set-rate drips include all common ICU drips
• RT manages common RT equipment in the ICU
• Unit orientation is 1-2 shifts
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours
• Local placements within 50 miles are accepted
• Local rate adjustment applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles
