Overview

Required Qualifications

• Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years in OR
• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS
• Orthopedic surgery experience
• Scrubbing experience

Unit Details

• 5 suites
• Average 20-25 cases per day
• Common cases include general surgery, GYN surgery, urology surgery, orthopedic surgery, podiatry surgery, colon resections, basic lap gen surgery cases, hysterectomy and other lap GYN cases, basic urology and nephrectomy/prostatectomy, PCNL, total knee replacement, total hip replacement, shoulder replacement, knee scopes, shoulder scopes, and basic podiatry cases

Scheduling and Call

• Weeknight call: once every 6 weeks
• Weekend call: once every 6 weeks
• Holiday call required
• Call response time: 45 minutes
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling
• On-site orientation on the morning of the first shift
• Department orientation runs Monday-Friday, 8:30a-5pm, with a varied day off every other week

Floating

• May float to Ottawa at times

Additional Notes

• Hospital-provided scrubs are required
• Charge nurse and supervisor coverage are present
• Epic OpTime is used in the unit
