Role Overview

• MRI Technologist caring for patients while operating MRI equipment to produce images for Radiologist interpretation.
• The department scans outpatients and inpatients, including ED patients.
• The department is located within a Level 1 trauma center.
• The facility scans routine to critical patients of all age groups, including under sedation and anesthesia.
• The facility performs routine and complex protocols in Neuro, Body, and MSK.
• The facility scans implants including pacemakers, stimulators, and aneurysm clips.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of MR experience
• ARRT or ARMRIT
• BLS
• RTR MR
• Knowledge of operating GE MRI scanners 1.5T and 3T
• MRI safety guidelines
• Starting IVs
• Standard acquisition sequences for MRI scanning

Schedule

• 12-hour nights, mostly Wednesday through Friday
• Shift options may include first, second, or third shift depending on department needs
• Does not take call
• Not scheduled on weekends
• 1 weekend a month
• Holiday coverage possible

Unit / Department Details

• Radiology | MRI Tech
• 5 total MR magnets
• Uses GE MRI scanners
• Uses Epic and McKesson PACS
• MRI tech assistant support: 1 per 8-hour shift

Floating / Coverage

• Maintains assignments within the Medical Center and the designated magnets therein
• May cover outpatients, inpatients, and ED patients

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Standard solid-colored scrubs
• Tattoos must be covered
• 1 week of department orientation, depending on familiarity with the scanner type
• Drug screen required for submission
