Location: Peoria, Illinois Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Summary

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and financial and human resources, consistent with the institution's philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit within the scope of service
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date nursing care documentation for the healthcare team
• Complete initial patient assessments on admission and develop plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Implement and modify plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures based on continuous evaluation
• Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents
• Communicate directly and privately with others as needed to resolve issues
• Offer constructive feedback to support peers' professional development and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge
• Identify personal learning needs and take initiative to address them
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license in good standing
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years of Med Surg experience
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
